Chris Lockhart to lead Wipfli’s private client services

Monday, December 4, 2023

Wipfli is pleased to announce the appointment of Chris Lockhart to the position of industry leader for the firm’s private client services practice. A Wipfli partner since 2021, he leads a team that specializes in working with high-net-worth individuals on estate and tax planning strategies, including considerations for international tax.

Chris has worked hard to develop trusted relationships with his clients, promoting open communication and taking proactive approaches to help ensure they are able to achieve their goals. In this new role, Chris leads a team that focuses on commitment to quality, driving lasting impact for clients.

“High-net-worth individuals want to know their finances are in good hands, that their advisors are experienced and that they are keeping up with policies and tax implications that will affect their generational wealth,” Wipfli Growth Partner Brian Blaha said. “I’m thrilled Chris will be leading this vital practice at Wipfli.”

“Every day, I come to work focusing on the ‘why’ for what we do — that what my team and I do matters to the individuals and families we work with,” Lockhart said. “It’s an honor to be trusted with this role and this team. Every member is there for each other and their clients.”

Lockhart highlighted that valuation is an integral part of Wipfli’s private client services practice. The team assists business owners as they consider their financial future or succession.

The practice also provides guidance for complex international tax issues, including those related to expatriate and inpatriate matters. The team understands the intricate filing requirements for foreign financial accounts and investments, as well as U.S. credits and exclusions allowable for income earned in other countries.
